Spring 2018 is like a greatest hits collection for the interior artist to play with. This season includes a fashion-forward wide-width sheer grouping, two new entries in our bleach cleanable indoor/outdoor series, an instant classic faux leather book, and another round of our high end designer-driven Color Waves, and finally two go-with-it-all solid upholstery books to bring it all home.

Standout Color Trends

  • There’s a reason that Benjamin Moore chose the spicy, orange-based red they call Caliente as their color of 2018. It’s bold, with a clean warmth that can be be injected into the more neutral palettes of seasons past to liven things up.
  • The continuation of the tropical trend into 2018 drives the interest in jungle greens.
  • Not your early-2000s chocolate brown, the browns of 2018 are sophisticated shades ranging from cognac to elk on the warmer side and honey blonde to ash on the cooler end of the spectrum.
  • Black and white are still a hot combo with staying power. The combination is undeniably versatile and pairs beautifully with the greens, reds and warm neutrals (and of course the enduring blush pink) that are current.

  Design Trends

  • Beauty is in the Eye – Eyelet embroidery adds an effortless boho element to an interior. Keeping the eyelet design clean and geometric avoids a too-sweet or old-fashioned look.
  • Check it Out – Checks from petite gingham to overscale buffalo plaid and windowpane designs add a layer of cozy chic into any décor. These looks are particularly fresh when a rustic menswear design is juxtaposed with a clean, minimalist space (think urban woodsman in a city loft).
  • Pleats Please – Details like pleats and seams add depth to clean, graphic prints.
  • Wild Kingdom – Faux skins and hides instantly add a well-traveled and glam vibe in a diverse array of contructions from rich velvets and woven jacquards to prints.
  • Growth Spurt – Florals have been cropping up in abdunance for a least two seasons now, but the look has widened to embrace all botanically-inspired motifs, from palm fronds to bamboo shoots. This trend is all about bringing the outdoors in.

All about the details: in a ready-made world, interiors are shifting to become all about the finer things.
